U.S. Sanctions Tankers Over Iran Ties

WASHINGTON, July 29 — The United States imposed a new round of Iran-related sanctions Wednesday targeting eight tankers and 10 entities, according to a notice posted on the U.S. Treasury Department’s website.

Six of the targeted entities are based in China, the notice said.

The sanctions were announced after President Donald Trump vowed earlier Wednesday to “hit Iran hard” in an interview with Fox News.

Trump’s remarks followed a statement from the U.S. military saying it had intercepted multiple ballistic missiles launched by Iran toward American forces in the Middle East.
