U.S. Ends Iraq Mission After Erbil Exit

CENTCOM says U.S. forces and equipment completed their departure from Erbil Air Base today, ending Operation Inherent Resolve’s mission in Iraq after nearly 12 years. The task force is now headquartered in Jordan, while U.S. forces continue counter-ISIS operations in Syria. The U.S.-Iraq relationship is shifting to a bilateral defense partnership.
