DUBAI  -  The Israeli military will attack Hezbollah military infrastructure in southern Lebanon "in response to its attempts to rebuild its activities in the area", an Israeli military spokesperson said on Thursday.

Lebanon is under pressure from the United States, Saudi Arabia and Hezbollah's domestic rivals to disarm the militant group.

Hezbollah has said it would be a serious misstep even to discuss disarmament while Israel is continuing airstrikes on Lebanon and occupying swaths of territory in  southern Lebanon.

"We direct an urgent warning to the residents of the buildings marked in red... to evacuate those buildings",  Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on X, providing maps of the three Lebanese villages of Mays al-Jabal, Kfar Tebnit and Dibbine.

The military spokesperson said the attack would take place in the "near term" without providing a specific time.

The United States brokered a truce in November between Lebanon and Israel following more than a year of conflict sparked by the war in Gaza.
